Re: please vote
Tue, November 2, 2004 - 11:26 AMSeriously. Although I'd like to say vote for kerry, at this point I just want people to vote, period. There has been more than enough information put out about all parties to make an informed decision. An old friend of mine is voting for bush today, and though i disagree with her choice of candidates, she is very well educated and is making a choice based on her opinion, not on the sway of the media or pressure from her friends. I, on the other hand, am begining to feel like a socialist/democratic hybrid of a system is the only way we as a country are going to survive. Is anyone especially well versed in the ins and outs of socialism? I would love to hear pinions, regardless of if they are for or against a socialist stucture. -

Re: please vote
Tue, November 2, 2004 - 11:42 AMI think if you look at Canada the basis of their system is of a socialist nature and parts of it really works like the healthcare system their is available to everyone and the prescriptions are affordable ...
I really feel if we are going to be fighting a war it should be one on poverty because if anything is really hurting this country its poverty and the effects it has on generations.
I think its really sad how many wealthy people are in America and the amount of poverty this country has also. To me it seems that most people look at people in poverty as shiftless and lazy but in reality many people in poverty have jobs but are underpaid and over worked. Or think of it like this what if you are on welfare you bring in enough to pay your rent have food and maybe pay a few bills but if you get a job where you only make minim wage you will lose your benefits and still wont have enough money to get by and you have to think of how to keep a roof over your kids heads. I know people think ohh why don’t they just get a trade or something but when your caught up in a survival mode its so hard to really think of the future. And or they feel limited by the choices they are offered
I see this every day working as a social worker and uhmm sorry I went off on a tangent their hehhe so in short lol yes I believe in a socialist structure -

Tue, November 2, 2004 - 11:45 AMKitty, if there was a coup and anarchy reigned for 20 years before some kind of structure formed, I would want to hang out with you for those 20 years, with our combined brawn and brain, I think we'd survive just fine. -
