Im sure you all have heard the rumors which have been making their way around, that the draft will begin if bush is re-elected. (thought that may be the least of my worries is B continues in office) So, curious to the response, If you were drafted, would you put aside your political objections and fight for your country? Would you whip out your tin of mood stablizers and inform them that youve just shat yourself? Would you leave the country? Personally, I'd shit myself. Luckily for my brothers, they are brazilian born.

i would fight for my country if we were actually fighting for our country. i just don't think in this war we are fighting for our country.

Thu, October 21, 2004 - 11:50 AMI only fight if I felt we were fighting for reasons worthy of shedding blood, and there's very few that I'd throw down for. Taking life isn't anything that sould be taken lightly nor should it be considered par for the course, at least for me.
They're shipping out my brother in December since they're calling in the Marine reserves....It hasn't really hit but I'm a little freaked out, because I don't want to lose my only sibling over some ridiculous bullshit to make fat cats fatter. -

Thu, October 21, 2004 - 12:22 PMI am a pacifist so I would not, I would go to canada and marry my friend nettie and live in same sex partner bliss.. in a country where its legal and they arent drafting people..
but on a seirous note I really dont belive in war I think all it does is line the pockets of the rich who dont fight it or die, and once again the poor are the ones that suffer and die for a goverment greed

at first i was going to say hopefully by december we'll have a new president in office and maybe your brother won't have to go, but then i thought what is Kerry really going to do that will be so much better than Bush?
so all i can say is i'll pray for your family and all the other families with loved ones over there. i don't have any relatives or friends who are currently serving in the military so i can only empathize with what all of you must be going through.
